Design Lunches - Digital manufacturing
Presentation
The "Design Lunches" of the Studio Design are occasions to share experiences, practices, skills and questions.
During that first edition, Mickaël Bouhier from Telecom Paris fablab presented the digital manufacturing methods available on site. He introduced some projects made in the fablab, and detailed the skills required for such practices, from modelling to operating and maintaining the machines. We discussed, with sociologists and designers, possible uses of these fabrication processes for the INTERACT research team
We then welcomed Ludivine Dargaud, student in the Master of Design Research at ENS Paris Saclay. She presented her work on customized "object-prostheses" (visit the dedicated post for more information and pictures) at the KapLab (CHU Liège). She used 3d printing, but also moulding and freehand modelling, as well as 3d scanning.
